So May 15th marked exactly a month since I started weight watchers. It’s been a struggle but it’s definitely been worth it. I have had some weight-loss but nothing extremely significant. I’m definitely closer to the 200 pound mark then when I started. The fact that I even let myself get over 200 pounds and didn’t even realize it was the shocker for me. I’ve never been the truly fitness oriented type of person but I always tried to stay within that “healthy weight” range for me because I know where I feel comfortable. I have started back going to the gym and I actually enjoy it. I don’t understand why I stopped going to the gym in the first place. I don’t know maybe it’s just me but after a stressful day at work going to the gym and pushing myself is so stress relieving. The fact that Planet Fitness has aqua massage tables is the icing on the cake.
I must say that I definitely surprised myself. I haven’t tried to quit, I think for me it’s more so because it’s more of a lifestyle change not a diet. I abhor the word diet I don’t like going on diets the thought that I actually have a limit myself on what I can eat is so unappealing. I appreciate the fact that weight watchers is more of a lifestyle change (it doesn’t blatantly say that you can’t have this or you can only eat this…. it more like of course you can eat the cheesecake but also use moderation). I definitely think more before I stuff my face. I’ve noticed that I’ve cut back on a lot of the the sweets and candy that I would normally eat. That’s not to say that when I first started that I wasn’t backsliding because I definitely used to binge on sweets at night. I love the fact that the weight watchers app has a barcode scanner so I scan everything yes I’m definitely that crazy lady you’ve probably seen in the grocery store scanning every single effing package of ice cream so I find one that had the lowest point value. I scan everything. I’ve gotten it down to a science that I know what I can eat when I go to some fast food restaurants that aren’t going to use all my points and I also know that if I want to use up all my extra weekly points the best time for me to do that is at the beginning of the week so when I weigh in on Sunday I don’t feel defeated. I personally like to eat my heaviest on days that I go to the gym or the day before because I know that I can burn off the calories during my workout. So for me that means I eat more Sunday evening through Wednesday/ Thursday since my gym days are usually monday/wednesday or tuesday/thursday. Overall I’m thoroughly enjoying this journey in how to properly love my body.
